Mr. Roosevelt Jackson Sr., 80, of Steele, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Steele. Born June 16, 1932, to the late Henry Jackson and Josephine Rogers Jackson, he was a retired farmer of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Jackson; and one grandson, Roosevelt Jackson III.
Mr. Jackson leaves his wife, Mattie Louise Jackson of Kennett;
One daughter, Ella Jackson (Harvey Thomas) of Steele;
Two sons, Roosevelt (and Undrea) Jackson Jr. of Blytheville and Eric (and Denise) Jackson of Kennett;
Three sisters, Ella Mae (and Johnny) Thompson of Stockton, Calif., Juanita (and JB) Pounds of Cape Girardeau and Barbara (and Texter) Jennings of Chicago;
Three brothers, Charles (and Lovenia) Jackson of Blytheville, LC (and Sandra) Jackson of Burdette and Robert (and Evelyn) Jackson of Blytheville; and
Twelve grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Church in Blytheville with the Rev. M.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today (Friday) at Wilson Funeral Home.
