Tracy Ann Goss is the author of "The Silent Cry of a Child." She lives in Paragould, where she works as a store manager at a flea market.

She wrote the book to help others and to make her dream of a shelter, the New Hope Foundation for abused children and adults, a reality. The proceeds from her book will go to the foundation. She has the name and location and is now working on a grant to help get the project underway. New Hope would be on the same line as a Big Brother/Sister program.

"There is a need right here for such a place," Goss said. "Many times children do not speak out until they are adults. Child abuse is epidemic and too many people turn their heads."

"The Silent Cry of a Child," is her story of survival of abuse that she can only share in hopes of helping others.

She said she kept journals throughout her life but this is her first book. It is available at Amazon, Face Book, and Hastings.

Goss said this book is not intended to be read by children but she hopes it can stop the silent cry of those who have been abused.

She said she will fight child abuse as long as she lives. Her long-term goal is establishing the New Hope Foundation to help children and adults.

"God did not intend for children to suffer," Goss said. "Too many times people turn a blind eye. My question is, can you hear me now?"

Goss is working on a second book, "Secret Diaries of Mississippi," she hopes to have published in the near future.
