Nayrene Sanders
Nayrene Sanders passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. She was born in Monette to the late Mack and Mary Willie McEntyre Calvert.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Henry Dean Sanders; her brothers Grover, Rufus and John Calvert; her
twin, Maudene Beaton, and sister Lucy Hunt as well as a grandson, Chad Houchin.
She was an avid athlete in her youth playing softball and basketball. She enjoyed fishing and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. She will be remembered as the pianist for Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Survivors include her son, Larry Sanders and his wife Diana; daughters, Bren Houchin and her husband John and Lin Dowless, all of Monette; grandchildren, Mylinda Hawkins, Dave Pierce and Brant Dowless of Monette, Shannon Sanders and wife Jerri Lyn of Caraway, Nathan Sanders and wife Jill of Leachville, and Heath Sanders and wife Kristie of Monette; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Bettis and husband Andy of Jonesboro, Lauren Cherry and husband D.J. of Jonesboro, Colton and Bret Houchin both of Idabel, Okla., Jacob and Evan Sanders, both of Leachville, H.D. Sanders of Monette, Emmie and Bryton Sanders, both of Caraway; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with a funeral service following at 3 p.m.
Interment followed in Caraway Cemetery with Rev. Michael Taber and Rev. Jerry Reed officiating.
Memorials may be made to Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were grandsons, Brant Dowless, Shannon Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Heath Sanders and Andy Bettis, and great-grandsons, Colton Houchin and Bret Houchin.
