An old-fashioned sorghum harvest and cooking will be held beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Poor Boy's Garden, located at 2366 Country Road 855 in Caraway. (From Highway 158 in Caraway, turn south by Caraway City Hall onto New York Avenue, also known as Hackberry Road, then go 2.5 miles to Poor Boy's Garden.)
The sorghum will be harvested and processed by a horse-drawn cane mill and then cooked. Antique farm machinery will also be on display.
A new feature this year will be bluegrass and gospel music. Scheduled to perform is Highway 351 from Jonesboro, and Saved By Grace from Rector.
Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy music, barbecue, games, and a day of old-fashioned family fun for all ages.
