A Pulaski County Judge ruled on Wednesday candidate Wes Wager is in compliance with the residency requirements for District 54 House of Representative.

Wes Wagner, an attorney in Manila, ran for House District 54, unopposed. District 54 is a newly drawn district and is made up of northern and western Mississippi County, and Lepanto, Rivervale, and Trumann in Poinsett County.

Chris Gamble, a Manila resident and businessman, challenged Wagner's residency earlier in August. The suit alleged Wagner did not live in the district and was not eligible for the position he was seeking.

Following a full day of testimony, Judge Wendell Griffen affirmed that Wes Wagner satisfied the residency requirement.

Wes Wagner will be the third person in his immediate family to serve in the House of Representatives. His mother, Rep. Charolette Wagner, is term-limited this year being elected in District 77. Also, Wes's father, Wayne Wagner served in the House of Representatives from 1987 until term limits began in 1998.
