Members interested in the political process within Farm Bureau are invited to the Annual Resolutions Event, set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Northwest Research and Extension Center in Keiser, according to Heath Adkisson of Blytheville, president.

John Tipton of Osceola, resolutions chairman, said there will actually be eight separate committees. These are Cotton, Soybeans, Rice, Wheat-Feed Grains, Local, State and National Affairs, plus Research and Extension.

This organization process is recognized to be one of the most thorough in the state. Farm Bureau in Arkansas and throughout the nation is a "Grassroots" organization that relies heavily on local input, according to Adkisson.

"Our policy originates at the county level, and if it becomes state organization policy, the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation lobbies for its adoption in state government and state groups and organizations," said Adkisson.

An extra incentive is being offered for the ninth consecutive time, according to Tipton. Home Oil Company, headquartered in Osceola, will offer three sorting guns as door prizes. Last year the winners were the late Drew Blankenship of Dell, Jeanette Bennette of Joiner and Hugh Don Ashmore of Blytheville. The guns have a retail value of approximately $1,500.

A meal is planned at 6 p.m., prepared by Razorback Catering of Blytheville.
