The Blytheville Fire Department responded to four fires on Thursday. At 4 a.m. the vacant Blytheville Steam Cleaners at Second and Sycamore streets caught fire and was fully involved in flames upon arrival by firefighters. Around 800 square feet of the structure took heavy damages. At 5:25 p.m., a vacant house at 20th and Cherry streets began to burn, and 100 percent of the structure was damaged before the blaze was extinguished at 6:15 p.m. Two grass fires near area roadways were also dealt with on Thursday. One fireman sustained a nail puncture wound to the hand.
