A Blytheville city employee is being investigated for allegedly selling drugs out of a city vehicle.
According to Blytheville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Capt. Scott Adams, 32-year-old Brian Eugene Robinson of Blytheville will be arraigned Monday in Blytheville District Court on charges of possession of control substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine, marijuana, and Hydrocodone, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and possession of firearms by certain persons. Blytheville police also served a Failure to Appear warrant for the Sheriff's Office when they arrested Robinson Thursday.
Blytheville Mayor James Sanders said he received a tip around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday that Robinson was intimidating individuals and dealing drugs while on the job as driver of the city's recycling truck.
"Officers verified that Robinson was in fact working as a driver for the City recycling truck along with two other individuals," Adams said. "Officers also discovered that Robinson was wanted on warrants through the Sheriff's office. The work crew was located, while on duty, in the area of Moultrie and Bell Streets. Officers stopped the city vehicle and arrested 32 year old Robinson per warrant."
He said officers located a loaded 25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, approximately 86 Hydrocodone pills, 5.9 grams of methamphetamine, and 13.4 grams of marijuana (all packaged for distribution) and approximately $4,000 in cash on Robinson.
Robinson and the other two subjects were transported to the Blytheville Police Department where they were questioned. The two other subjects were not charged in this incident and released.
