This weekend there will be 17 teams visiting Blytheville for the 13-year-old and 14-year-old North Arkansas Jr. Babe Ruth State tournaments, which are being held at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex. This weekend there will be 17 teams visiting Blytheville for the 13-year-old and 14-year-old North Arkansas Jr. Babe Ruth State tournaments, which are being held at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex.

The tournaments will run Friday through Monday.

"We are anticipating over 600 people in town visiting for the tournament," Blytheville Baseball Softball Booster board member Randy Scott said. "Most all of the hotels are completely booked."

Competing in the 13-year-old State Tournament are Harrison, Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club, Fort Smith Church League, Batesville, Jonesboro, Delta, Paragould, Siloam Springs and Bentonville.

Competing in the 14-year-old State Tournament are Blytheville, Mountain Home, Harrison, Jonesboro, Delta, Osceola, Ozark and Fort Smith Church League.

Blytheville will participate in Pool A with Delta, Fort Smith and Harrison. The rest of the teams make up Pool B. Blytheville opens the tournament with Fort Smith Church at 10 a.m. Friday, then plays Harrison at 11 a.m. Saturday, looking for the best possible seed going into Sunday's Bracket Play.

Admission to the event is $5 per person. The 14-year-olds will play on Field 8, while the 13-year-olds will play on Field 7. For more information see blythevilleball.com
