David Ramsey
The Rev. David Ramsey, 57, of Blytheville, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012. He was born Aug. 18, 1954, to Goodman and Wanda Frisbee Ramsey. David was a retired maintenance worker for Blytheville Public Schools and was the children's pastor at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jonesboro where he was also a member.
He graduated in 1972 from Blytheville High School and attended Cotton Boll Vo-Tech School, graduating in 1980. He was a Children's Evangelist and Minister, licensed with the United Pentecostal Church International and founded the program, Street R.A.G.E. (Reaching A Generation Effectively) in 1993, taking the gospel to the neighborhoods where kids live. Many churches across America and overseas are now participating in this program.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Loyd Ramsey, whom he married April 4, 1980;
Two daughters and their husbands, Sarah and Craig O'Brien and Meredith and Tony Goforth, all of Jonesboro;
A granddaughter, Kaylee Grace O'Brien of Jonesboro; and
Four sisters, Susie Lloyd of Osceola, Marilyn Fisher of Cushing, Okla., and Naomi Stokes and Margie Ramsey, both of Blytheville.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Grace Life Church, 1501 East Moultrie in Blytheville.
A second visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 5312 S. Caraway Road in Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Scot Loyd and Pastor Darrell Runyan officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.
The family requests that if anyone would like to write a "Memory" of David, please bring it to the visitation or funeral and place in the "Memory Box" that will be provided.
