Wilburn I. "Mike" Pillow

Wilburn I. "Mike" Pillow, 81, of Joliet, Ill., formerly of Lisle, lll., passed away, Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet, Ill. He was born March 21, 1931, in Paragould Ark.

He was the cherished husband of Frances Svitek Pillow, wedded 56 years and the beloved father of David (Patricia) Pillow of Cape Coral, Fla., Kathleen Pillow of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Karen (Frank) Severino of Plainfield, Ill.; loving grandfather of Vanessa Pillow, Frank, Michael, and Joseph Severino; fond great-grandfather of Hailie, Kyndra, and Briannah; dearest brother of Jerry, Tom, Charlene, and Larry; and uncle of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odus and Gladys Pillow.

He was a Sears retiree for 31 years. He was an avid golfer and a Civil War buff. He was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Church, Lisle, Ill.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544 (corners of Rt. 30 & 59). Prayers will begin Wednesday, June 27, 10 a.m. from the funeral home and proceed to St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, Ill., 60544 for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment is private. Future inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Ill.
