Harold James Minyard
Mr. Harold James Minyard, 89, of Dell, passed from this life Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Harold was born in Blytheville to Robert L. and Lula Mae Corley Minyard, attended Dell Baptist Church and was a retired superintendent for oil drilling rigs with Arco Company, overseas and in California. He was a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Harold was a great cook who enjoyed gardening and canning the things he grew, fishing, traveling and loved going to California every year. He loved western movies, especially John Wayne films and Gunsmoke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eula Elizabeth Jones Minyard; an infant son, Jimmy Minyard; a daughter, Radene Minyard; a brother, Robert J. Minyard; and sisters, Mary Hogan, Juanita Dedman, Betty Hogan and Christine Jackson.
Harold is survived by his wife, Ruby McCallie Minyard of the home;
Two daughters, Joanne Jones of Manila and Jackie Cook and husband, John, of Dell;
Step-children Billy E. Huddleston and wife, Cathy, and Benny R. Huddleston and wife, Phyllis, all of Dell, and Ruby Mae O'Neal of Redfield;
Seven grandchildren, Eddie Le Lake, Stephanie Patterson, Mark McClendon and wife, Jennie, James McClendon, Johnny Cook, Michelle Cook and husband, Brian and LeeAnn Southern;
Eight step-grandchildren, David Taylor, James Taylor, Carrie Bidwell, "Little Bill" Eugene Huddleston, Jeremy Huddleston, "Little Benny" Huddleston, Barry Huddleston and Brandi Waters;
Twelve great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; and
A host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at noonMonday at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum in Dogwood Cemetery.
