Vernie H. 'Mutt' Carmichael
Mr. Vernie H. "Mutt" Carmichael, 87, of Leachville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home. Born in El Paso, Ark., he was the son of the late Archie and Onie Taylor Carmichael and had lived in the Leachville area for the past 70 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Collins Carmichael in 2010. Mr. Carmichael was a retired farmer, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a believer of God's faith.
He leaves five sons; Gerald Carmichael of Leachville, Paul Carmichael of Cardwell, and Ronnie, Winky, and Kenny Carmichael of Manila;
Nine daughters, Deborah Horton of Marshall, Charlotte Carmichael of Blytheville, Vickie Lollar of Clinton, Tenn., Judy Duke of Lebanon, Mo., Lisa Alsup of Caraway, Louise Wilbanks of Jonesboro, and Kimberly Junyor, Frances Lancaster, and
Mary Morris, all of of Leachville; and
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. Graig Stull officiating. Burial will follow in Caraway Cemetery.
