Wes Colbert banged out four hits, including a triple, while picking up the pitching victory, leading Buffalo Island Central to an 18-3 thrashing of Cross County Tuesday afternoon at Monette.

Dilynn Strickland went 3-5 with an RBI while Mark Stone blasted a two-run homer for the Mustangs. Jeremy Smith, Logan Dewitt and Austin Pike all added two hits apiece for BIC.

The Mustangs began the week, dropping a tough 3-2 decision to East Poinsett County Monday afternoon in Lepanto.

Aaron Scales' RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in the winning run, giving the Warriors the 2A-3 conference victory.

The Mustangs closed the week Thursday afternoon in Marked Tree, losing 5-1 to the Indians.

Mark Stone (0-1) took the loss for BIC, going four innings while striking out four. Logan Dewitt and Devon Ballin had two hits apiece to lead the Mustang offensive attack.

The loss drops BIC to 5-4 overall and 4-4 in 2A-3 conference play.

The Lady Mustangs faced off against Rector Thursday afternoon in a battle of unbeatens. Rector put together a four run seventh inning rally to pull out a come from behind 5-2 win over BIC.

Kelly Fowler improved to 8-0 on the season, picking up the pitching victory for the Lady Cougars. Fowler fanned 11 while walking only three. Anna Blackshare ripped a two run homer while LeNae Haley added a two run single to key Rector's seventh inning comeback.

Madison Greathouse took the loss for BIC, who dropped to 4-1 overall and 4-1 in league play. Greathouse struck out five while allowing five runs on nine hits in seven innings of work. Callie Brooks led BIC at the plate, going 2-3, including an RBI triple.

BIC began the week with a 4-1 victory over Riverside Monday afternoon at Monette.

Madison Greathouse went 2-2 at the plate and picked up the win on the mound, striking out six Lady Rebels. Greathouse went the distance, giving up only one run.

Brittany Stockton also went 2-2 and had a pair of RBIs. Kelsey Strickland and Cassidy Qualls also notched a pair of hits.

Emily Jordan led Riverside at the plate, going 3-4, while Bekah Frayer had a pair of hits and scored a run.

The Lady Mustangs also picked up a victory Tuesday afternoon, routing Marmaduke 13-1.

Kelsey Strickland had three hits and two RBIs while Brittany Fowler, Callie Brooks and Bailey Owens all added a pair of hits apiece. Jodiee Clay and Cassidy Qualls both had hits for the Lady Mustangs.
