OSCEOLA -- The Armorel Tigers won their second game in a row thanks to an 18-5 win in four innings over Osceola Wednesday afternoon.
Ninth grader Seth Eatmon picked up the win for Armorel (5-3) allowing three earned runs and six hits while striking out seven over four innings of work.
The Tigers scored four in the fourth, six in the third and eight in the fourth on their way to the victory.
Osceola picked up three runs in the third and two in the fourth.
Jonathan Porter homered for the Tigers and picked up two RBIs. Ryan Sullivan, Austin Nicholson and Hunter Myers each picked up a pair of hits and two RBIs a piece. Ty Wagganer collected two hits, Brad Eubanks picked up two hits and an RBI and Taylor Hopper also recorded a hit.
Armorel begins 1A-3 East play Friday afternoon at Crowleys' Ridge Academy. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
GOSNELL 14, PARAGOULD 1
PARAGOULD--The Gosnell Pirates improved their record to 2-0 after a 14-1 win over 5A Paragould in five innings Tuesday afternoon.
Taylor Jolly pitched all five innings allowing just one run on three hits while striking out 10 and walking only one for the Pirates.
Gosnell (2-0) scored a run in each of the first and second innings thanks to an RBI single from Blake Sullivan (1-2 with an RBI) in the first and a bases loaded walk to Braxton Champion (1-3 with an RBI) in the second.
Brad Thomas (1-2 with 3 RBIs) highlighted a five-run fifth with a three-run home run scoring Sullivan and Ricky Gable as Gosnell extended their lead to 8-1.
Gosnell scored four more in the fourth and three in the fifth on their way to the victory.
The Pirates head to Jonesboro Friday afternoon to take on the 6A Hurricane.
