Gosnell Elementary students in grades K-6 released balloons Wednesday afternoon as a way to say goodbye to GES counselor Monica Bevill and her infant daughter, Lacy Danielle Bevill, who both passed away Feb. 23.
Each balloon had written messages from the students as they sailed toward the heavens.
Before the balloon release, some students read Bible verses, one prayed and there was a moment of silence during the emotional event.
The 38-year-old Bevill had worked for the school district for 14 years.
