The Delta Gateway Museum in downtown Blytheville will host the next Heirloom Saturdays at the Museum event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. The theme is vintage toys and games.

"We're asking the general public to bring in cherished toys and games collected or saved from childhood for our version of show-and-tell," said Leslie Hester, museum director. "This is a broad theme that includes all kinds of toys and games, sports, dolls, models, arts and crafts -- anything that provided fun or entertainment for children of the past."

As a special attraction for local sports enthusiasts during the month of March, the Museum is showcasing a collection of historic high school football helmets, including helmets from Blytheville High School, Gosnell High School and Osceola High School. The display will include several restored NFL and college helmets, as well as player figurines, all courtesy of Larry Morris.

"We're working on a couple of other theme-related exhibit ideas, too, so we hope people will come out and enjoy the event," Hester said.

Coffee and donuts will be served.

The Delta Gateway Museum is housed in the historic Kress Building at 210 W. Main St. For more information, contact Hester at lhester43@yahoo.com or 870-824-2346.
