Charles H. Henry, Sr.
Charles H. Henry, Sr., 79 of Manila, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. Born Sept. 12, 1932, in Sedgwick, Ark., he was the son of the late Dewey and Georgia Henry and had been a long-time area resident. Mr. Henry owned Henry Brothers Incorporated in Manila and enjoyed walking, driving and watching squirrels. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one son, Charles Henry, Jr. of Manila; four daughters, Anita Herron of Cardwell, Mo., Katherine Henry of Sarasota, Fla., Susan Lam and husband Eddie of Charlotte, N.C., and Betty Rinehart and husband William of Manila; one stepson, Ron Dotson of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Gene Henry of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Marcella McDonough of Woodburn, Ore. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Henry; a granddaughter, Rachel Dutton; two brothers, Richard Henry and Ed Henry.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Faith Funeral Service in Manila, with Rev. Tommy Payne officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Derek Henry, Dagan Henry, Mack Bounds, Ron Dotson, Eddie Lam and Wayne Taylor.
