Manila FFA Alumni Association gathered over 100 items for the 14th FFA auction and dinner. The event will be held Saturday at the Manila Airport Center. The meal will begin at 6 p.m. and the auction at 7 p.m.
Alumni president Will DeSpain said there will be a large variety of auction items including original prints, Delta tool box, John Deere collectibles, three guns, and Cajun cooker.
The guns include a Mosseburg model 500 12 gauge; 50 caliber muzzle loader; and youth model 22/410 combo.
Members of the Manila FFA, under the leadership of adviser Dwight Booth, have built heavy duty picnic tables, deer box stand, Cajun cooker, and swing.
Donations are being taken for a 42" television to be given away at the event.
Offered will be the U Pick It Ticket, give-away drawings and much more. There will be a $250 giveaway.
Auctioneer Greg Stallings will kick off the auction and will be joined by other volunteers.
The meal will be a fish and chicken strip dinner catered by Bigg Butts. The price of the meal is all you can eat for $12.
All of the proceeds from the event go to fund college scholarships for local graduates.
The Alumni Association has awarded over $90,000 in scholarships and with this year hope to go over $100,000 mark.
"We couldn't do this without the help of our sponsors who donate items and the people who come out to support the event," Booth said. "We really appreciate the support we get from the Alumni Association and our community."
Manila High School FFA members will be volunteering their time to help with the event.
