Robert F. Mays

Mr. Robert F. "Boss Hog" Mays passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. Born in Holland, Mo., Feb. 12, 1929, to Hattie and Noble Capehart, "Boss Hog" served in the Navy on the USS St. Paul and fought during the Korean War era.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Razorback football, and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Mays; a son, Bobby Charles Mays Waddell; and a son-in-law, Mark Howard.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Mays;

A daughter, Debbi Mays Howard;

Sons, Bobby Joe Mays and wife, Ellen, Gary Mays Tanner, Michael Mays Waddell, and Alan Mays Waddell; and

Ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. today at John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with graveside services following in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
