JONESBORO -- Both the Armorel Tiger boys and girls teams were ousted in the first round of the NEA Tournament.

The boys lost a 68-46 decision to Izard County Consolidated on Friday night and the girls lost to 1A-3 East foe, Crowley's Ridge Academy, 59-37, Monday morning.

ICC 68, Armorel 46

Three-seeded Izard County Consolidated shot 20-28 from the free throw line on its way to a 68-46 win over Armorel.

ICC led 18-14 at the end of one, 34-26 at half and 46-34 heading into the fourth.

Peyton Brown led the Tigers with 13 and Sam Warren added nine. Trenton Hatman led ICC with 22 and Kyle King added 16.

GIRLS

CRA 59, Armorel 37

CRA shot 17-27 from the free throw line compared to just 16 attempts for the Armorel Lady Tigers.

Madison Carr led the Lady Tigers with 16 points and Alexis Betts added nine. Ashlynn Abbott led all scorers with 26 for the Lady Falcons.

Both the boys and girls return to action on Friday, Jan. 6 at Ridgefield Christian in a 1A-3 East showdown.
