Members of the Masonic Lodge #558 purchased 50 large hams as part of their Christmas gift giving project for Monette Leachville, and Black Oak residents.
"When we mailed out membership letters this year we asked for donations for this special Christmas project," Larry Bibb said. "With 68 members we received enough in donations to purchase 50 large hams. We know that this will help make someone's Christmas Day just a little better."
Lodge members delivered the hams on Saturday, Dec. 17, to people in the Monette, Leachville and Black Oak area. This is the third year for this ham project and the Masons hope to make it a permanent part of the lodge contribution to the community.
Bear Harrell, Tommy Carroll, Larry Bibb, Billy Hetler and Mike Swindle worked on the project. Hetler made deliveries in Leachville, while Carroll, Bibb and Swindle delivered in Monette and Black Oak.
The Monette Masons meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m.at the Monette Lodge.
