The Buffalo Island Classic Cruiser Car Club (BICC) enjoyed their Christmas gathering on Thursday at the Eat A Bite Restaurant in Monette.

Each year the club chooses a family going through health issues and helps them to have a better Christmas.

This year they selected Kristy Seymore Fields and her children, Halle 6, and Jeremy 8. Kristy is a 2000 graduate of Buffalo Island Central and the daughter of Joyce and Barry Seymore and sister of Kevin Seymore of Monette.

BICC President Kay Staggs said the club picks out a family each year to share Christmas with. They use the money from their annual car show.

BICC was organized 19 years ago and has members from all of the towns. They welcome new members.

"We try to meet once a month and we do cruises and participate in car shows," Staggs said. "We host an annual car show. Each year we share Christmas with a family who is going through a difficult time due to illness. We just want them to know we are thinking of them and supporting them."

Fields was diagnosed with colon cancer in July. She will begin treatments.

Staggs played Santa wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
