Riverside defeated Batesville Southside 56-46 Thursday night, giving Head Coach Buster Campbell his 750th career victory in the quarterfinals of the Williams Baptist College Tournament.
The Rebels placed four players in double digits, led by Alteeno Sain's game high 19 points. Caleb Waugh and Cole Winford scored 12 points apiece while Logan Meurer chipped in 11.
Walnut Ridge knocked Riverside out of the tournament in the semifinals, 55-52, Friday night. Cole Winford led the Rebels with 20 points while Braden Peaster scored 14 more.
Winford and Sain were both chosen to the All-Tournament team.
The Rebels began the week, dropping a 56-40 2A-3 conference game to Rector at Lake City.
Brandon Stevens led Rector with 16 points while Mitchell Weber scored 14 and Alec Scott added 10 more.
Caleb Waugh led Riverside (6-6, 0-3 2A-3) with 12 points while Cole Winford added 10.
In junior high action, Riverside rolled past Rector 47-29. The Rebels (13-2, 2-1 2A-3) were led by Brandon Sain, who scored 19 points while Kollin Stone added 10.
Riverside will return to the hard court Tuesday night when they host Maynard at Caraway. The Rebels will travel to Marked Tree Friday night to take on the Indians in another league tilt.
