Bobby Joe Fraser
Bobby Joe Fraser, 53, of West Memphis, died Oct. 31, 2011, at Homestead, Fla. He was born April 23, 1958, at St. Louis, Mo., to Pauline Parker and Luther L. Fraser. He graduated WMHS in 1976 and married Marty Miller on July 4, 1976, in West Memphis.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Matthew (31) and Jon-Henry Wren (23) Fraser; grandchildren, Jasmine Maleah (8) and Kathy Matthew (2). Surviving family includes Karen Arnold Fraser, Charles and Marie Metcalfe, LaDonna Ratliff, Gary and Robin Fraser, Jim and Kathy Fraser, Tommy and Deloris Blunt; Scott; Biffa and Matthew; Eric, Joleen, Parker, Carter, Lynn and Rick.
Bob joined the U.S. Air Force in 1977 and was stationed in Florida, Philippines, New Mexico and Arkansas when he retired in 1995. After retirement, Bob worked for DFAS and was a civil service employee at Homestead Air Reserve Base in Florida. He devoted years to coaching baseball and basketball. After moving to Bellevue, Neb., he coached a select baseball team and was proud of the Bellevue Bruins going to the USSSA World Series. A member of Life Springs Church, SBC he was involved in building projects.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 North Pine Street, West Memphis, Ark. A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. by Pastor Michael Owens. A brief graveside service was held Monday afternoon at Macey Cemetery, Monette, Ark.
