Riverside's Lady Rebels fell twice last week, losing 50-40 Monday night at Brookland and 59-43 Thursday night at Gosnell in senior girls basketball action.

Samantha Flowers led three Brookland players in double figures with a team high 19 points while teammates Kayla Kee and Jordan Maynard scored 12 and 11 points respectively. The Lady Rebels jumped to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter but saw the Lady Bearcats rally, outscoring Riverside 15-4 in the second period to take a 22-19 edge into the dressing room at the half. Brookland stretched its advantage to 34-27 heading into the final frame, and held on for the 10 point victory.

Kenzley Wilson scored a game high 25 points to lead the Lady Rebels in scoring. Rebekah Frayer and Anna Brickell had six points apiece while Catlyn Sailor scored two and Tara Campbell added one point.

In junior high action, Brookland came away with a 41-33 victory as Baley Lorien and Menley Long scored 11 and 10 points respectively to lead the Lady Bearcats. Brookland held a slim 8-6 lead after the opening quarter and took a 17-13 edge into halftime. The Lady Bearcats stretched their advantage to 27-19 after three quarters.

Gattlin Hale scored a game high 13 points to lead Riverside. Ashlyn Snyder tallied seven points, Sydney Emery netted five, Natalie Milligan tallied four while Skylar Kauke and Megan Davidson contributed two points apiece to round out the Lady Rebel attack.

The Lady Pirates of Gosnell claimed a 16 point win Thursday night, 59-43, over Riverside in senior girls play, behind the 17 point effort of Kemahri Soward. Gosnell led 8-5 after the first quarter and outscored Riverside 20-9 in the second period to pull away to a 28-14 lead at the half. The Lady Pirates held a 47-27 bulge heading into the final period of play.

Kenzley Wilson scored a game high 18 points to lead the Lady Rebels in scoring, while Rebekah Frayer also netted double digits, scoring 11 points. Lindsey Bennett contributed seven points, Tara Campbell netted four, Kenadi Calahan tallied two while Anna Brickell pitched in one point for Riverside, who saw their season record drop to 3-4 on the year.

In junior high action, Riverside improved to 6-2 on the season with a 45-31 win over Gosnell. The Lady Pirates held an 8-6 lead after the opening period before Riverside rallied for a 19-15 halftime advantage. Riverside led 31-27 after three quarters of play.

Riverside placed three players in double figures led by Natalie Milligan's game high 18 points. Gattlin Hale scored 11 points while Sydney Emery added 10. Skylar Kauke netted five points while Ashlyn Snyder rounded out the Lady Rebel attack with one point.

Riverside will return to the hard court Monday night when they host conference rival Marmaduke. The Lady Rebels will travel to Monette to take on rival Buffalo Island Central on Thursday night in another conference tilt. The Junior Lady Rebels will also participate in the Bay Invitational Tournament, opening play Tuesday afternoon at 5:45 as the number five seed against fourth seeded Marion.
