According to a recent report from the Blytheville Police Department, former police officer Dewayne Lindsey Jr. was arrested again on Wednesday and will be facing new charges in Blytheville court before Judge Shannon Langston.
Lindsey allegedly attempted to kick open the door of a home on East Moultrie. When the door was opened by Melissa Lindsey, he reportedly forced his way into the house, carrying a baseball bat. Lindsey allegedly went through the house in search of James Beke, who was in a bedroom, and struck Beke on the head with the bat.
Before police arrived, Lindsey and Beke struggled over the bat, with Lindsey also receiving a blow to the head. Lindsey was gone before police made it to the scene, but was later arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and third-degree battery.
Lindsey, 32, has been at odds with the law multiple times since his termination from the police department in August of 2008 over the theft of firearms from a citizen's home. Since then, he has been reported or arrested over multiple charges, including theft of city water, an attempt to open a bank account with a fraudulent check, domestic battery and theft of property.
