The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for parts of Arkansas, including Mississippi County.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for parts of Arkansas, including Mississippi County.

The warning for Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties will be in effect until 8 a.m. Thursday.

A freeze warning for Clay, Craighead, Greene, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett and Randolph counties will be in effect until 9 a.m.

Forecasters expected temperatures to fall near or below freezing in northern Arkansas for several hours. Low temperatures of 28 degrees to 32 degrees were possible in the warning area.

A freeze watch also will run from Thursday night into Friday morning for Cross, Crittenden, Lee, Phillips and St. Francis counties in northeast Arkansas.
