Earle showed why it's the best team in the 3A-3 conference and one of the best teams in the state, whipping Manila 60-0 Thursday night at Lion Field.
The powerful Bulldogs ran only seven offensive plays in the first half in rolling up a 54-0 halftime bulge. Earle's Laderous Kimble took the opening kickoff and raced 70 yards for a Bulldog touchdown before fans had settled in their seats. Alrico Knighten ran in the two point conversion, giving Earle an 8-0 lead with just 21 seconds gone in the game.
Devoreous Selvy stripped Shane Lee on the Lion's third play from scrimmage and returned the fumble 40 yards for another Bulldog score with 10:30 left in the opening period. Laderous Kimble's two point conversion run gave Earle a 16-0 lead.
Laderous Kimble scored on runs of 65 and 76 yards on Earle's next two possessions before quarterback Dalvin Kimble hooked up with Cameron Wren on a 64 yard touchdown strike, giving the Bulldogs a 38-0 lead after the first quarter.
Dalvin Kimble connected with Selvy on a 21-yard touchdown pass at the 8:40 mark of the second period and Lorenzo Collins ran in the two point conversion, giving the Bulldogs a 46-0 lead. Laderous Kimble rambled 44 yards for his third touchdown with 2:05 left in the half. Dalvin Kimble's two point conversion run upped the Bulldog lead to 54-0.
Meanwhile the Bulldog defense stifled the Lion offense, holding Manila to minus one total yard in the opening half of play. Earle added one second half touchdown to set the final score, ending the Lion's season at 1-8 on the year. The victory for Earle upped its record to a perfect 9-0, heading into the state playoffs next week.
Laderous Kimble rushed three times for 185 yards, a whopping 62 yard per carry average, and three touchdowns in the opening half, while Dalvin Kimble completed all three of his passes for 123 yards and two scores.
