Dennis Franklin Short, 64, of Leachville, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. A memorial was held Monday, Oct. 24, at Highland Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired as chief of security at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of 30 years; daughter, Kendra Lea Jones of Millington, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Velda Faulkner of Arbyrd, Mo.; grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Carnahan, Cheyanne Reno, Josh Faulkner, Casey Holtsclaw; one brother, Kenneth Lee Short of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Jean Taylor of League City, Texas, Juanita Wilcox and Sue Melton, both of Jonesboro; also two cats, Pixie and Funny Face.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pat Hunt, and four nephews.
