Harold Russell
Mr. Harold Russell, 85, a lifelong Blytheville resident, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at St Elizabeth's in Jonesboro, AR. Born in Luray, TN to Luther and Vivian Dodd Russell, he was a charter member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church and was employed by City Electric Company for over 50 years. He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII and was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was loved by his many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold F. Russell, Jr.; his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Rambo Russell; sisters, Francis McAdams, Corrine Dyer and three siblings who died in infancy.
Mr. Russell is survived by his two sons and their spouses, David and Debra Russell of Jonesboro and Ronald and Charlda Russell of Denver, Colorado; brother, Charles A. Russell and wife, Lois of Pace, MS; four grandchildren and their spouses, Beth Russell Austin and husband Jeremy of Jonesboro, Dannah Russell Jones and husband Chris of Huntsville, AL, Curt Russell and wife, Allison of Washington DC and Jason Russell and wife, Alecia of Oxford MS; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Austin, Cody Austin and Owen Jones and an additional great-grandchild to be born any day.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 3pm in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:30pm until time for services. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net.
