The next city cleanup date is scheduled for Saturday.
Crews will be meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday in Williams Park for the second cleanup date of the "Cleaner Safer Blytheville" initiative.
"This has been such a positive thing for the city," said City Councilman John Musgraves. "And it's made Blytheville look good as a community."
People have been very excited about the cleanup initiative, according to Musgraves. He said that people have been coming up to him asking about the next cleanup date and how they can get involved.
"We can't thank the volunteers enough, and I want to encourage everyone to come out and help again," said Musgraves.
According to Councilman Stan Parks, the areas being cleaned are near Vine and Sycamore streets, south to Rose Street and over to Ruddle Road. Crews will also hit the area of Walker and Holland, he said.
They will also go east of Gospel Light House Church on Lilly, over to Franklin.
"There are more vacant lots this time, not as much alley work," Parks said. "The vacant lots seem to be grown up with brush, where the alleys have tall grass."
They are still targeting high-crime neighborhoods, he said.
