Ralph Elmer Thomas

Mr. Ralph Elmer Thomas, 70, of Trumann, Ark., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, after a brave battle with cancer. Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 22, 1941, in Jonesboro, Ark., to the late Drew and Gwendolyn Thomas. Mr. Thomas retired from Roach Conveyors after 35 years and was a lifelong area resident and an avid fisherman.

Survivors include one son, Jason Thomas and wife Nicki of Bay, Ark.; one daughter, Renee Tolbert of Trumann; one brother, Donald Thomas of Harrisburg, Ark.; three sisters, Mary Sue Thomas, Verline Thomas and Venetta Morgan, all of Trumann; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one special nephew, David Shubert; one special niece, Dawn Shubert; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Box Thomas; one brother, Danny Thomas; and two sisters, Phyllis Jones and Judy Ann Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Trumann with the Rev. Shelby Shelton officiating.

The family requests private disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark.
