Rosey Emily Meherg

Mrs. Rosey Emily Meherg, 98, of Oxford, Miss., formerly of Osceola, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in her home. Born Jan. 7, 1913, to the late James Holmes and the late Adele Harris Holmes, she was a homemaker and member of the Osceola Church of God.

Mrs. Meherg leaves eight daughters, Helen Whitaker, Bobby (and Larry) Rush, Pat (and Bud) Keel and Linda (and Jimmy) Humphrey of Oxford, Miss., Ora Hussey of Keiser, Peggy Beard of Dyess, Shirley (and Glen) Day of Bonaire, Ga., and Debbie (and Larry) Lambert of Hernando, Miss;

Four sons, Huey (and Diane) Meherg of Etowah, Jim (and Linda) Meherg of Golconda, Ill., Jess Meherg of Harrisburg and Rodney Meherg of Missouri; and

Seventeen grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Etowah Pentecostal Church of God with Bro. Raymond Britt officiating. Burial will follow at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
