Barbara Williams, unit director with For Every Home, recently announce that for the fourth year, local merchants have partnered with For Every Home to donate "Hope for a Cure" candles to Great River Medical Center's mammography department.

Every woman who comes to the hospital for a mammogram during the month of October, which is breast cancer awareness month, will receive a candle (while supplies last).

All of the proceeds from the purchase of these candles go to breast cancer research.

"This is something that corporate does for hospitals in Salt Lake City, Utah, where For Every Home's headquarters are located, and I think that this is something that really has an impact so I wanted to do it locally here in Blytheville. I am so proud that this is the fourth year that we have been able to do this," said Williams. "It is our hope that this candle will remind each woman to do monthly self-exams and to re-schedule for a mammogram next year."

Local business, including Nucor-Yamato Steel, Day's Men's Store, Burge's Shoes, Thomas Photography, Redden Services, Hubbard & Hoke, Thomas, Speight & Noble, Goff Real Estate, Me & My Sister Merle Norman and the Blytheville Courier News have supported the endeavor.

Williams said they could always use more candles, as they have already presented more than 150 candles. To purchase a candle, contact Barbara Williams at 870-623-8877 or through www.foreveryhome.com/barbarawilliams.
