The Manila Fire Department held their second annual barbecue fundraiser over the Labor Day weekend.

Volunteer firemen and retired firemen started the grill on Thursday and were ready to fill orders, feed the dine-in supporters, and the carry-out orders on Friday noon.

They grilled 200 Boston Butts, along with ribs and chicken.

Fire Chief Keith Bennett expressed his appreciation to everyone for their help and support.

Proceeds from the barbecue will go to purchase needed rescue equipment.

"We have a great group of firefighters in Manila and I appreciate each of them," Chief Bennett said. "They give their time because they care about the citizens of Manila."
