Carl William Pierce
Mr. Carl William Pierce, 80, of Hornersville, Mo., died on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Mr. Pierce was born on Nov. 12, 1931, in Missouri to the late Vada Dowdy. Mr. Pierce was a member of the First Baptist Church and American Legion Post 362. He was Chief of Police in Hornersville for over 30 years, served his country in the Army, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include, one son, Billy Wyrick and wife Dellena of Hornersville, Mo.; two daughters, Carla Tisdale of Michigan and Teshia Edmonston of Paragould, Ark.; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one special friend care giver: Brenda Martin and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his mother, Vada Dowdy and long time companion, Glenda Wimberly.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville with Rev. Floyd Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Horner Cemetery with full military honors under the directions of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday at the church from 1-3 p.m.
