Jacob Daniel Adair
Mr. Jacob Daniel Adair, 64, of Blytheville, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.
Born in Black Hawk, Miss., to Mancel Wade and Effie Lois Carpenter Adair, he was a former employee of Consolidated Supply Warehouse and was of the Baptist faith. Jacob was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He also farmed for many years and loved to tinker around outside with his truck and spend time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his brothers, Travis Adair, Sonny Adair and Willard "Icky" Adair; a sister, Jewell Adair; and one grandson, Justin Adair.
He leaves his wife, Shirley LaRue Adair;
His children, Michael David Adair of Gosnell, Jacob Dewayne and his wife, Deborah Adair, of Steele, Danielle Denise Adair-Dixon and Todd Ross of Gosnell and Robert Dixon of Gosnell;
His brothers, Marcus and wife, Pat Adair, of Pine Bluff, and Buddy Adair of Hickory Ridge;
His sisters, Effie Gonzales of Blytheville, Ruby and her husband, Don Vanderry, of Destin, Fla., Earlene Stack of Destin, Fla., and Lois Adams of Greenville, Miss;
Ten grandchildren, Tim, Laura, Courtney, Jasmine (Hootster), Cody, Thomas, Jacob, Joey, Abby and Ally; and
Two great-grandchildren, Andrea and David Jr.; and
A host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
