Construction continues on the north and the southbound lanes of a 5-mile stretch of Interstate 55 between the Blytheville exits 67 and 63. The $22 million rubblization project that is being done by Delta Asphalt has reduced each side to one lane.
"Rubblization is the process of grinding up and using existing material to make road improvements," said Arkansas Highway Department spokesperson, Glenn Bolick.
Bolick said that the project is a maintanance project to repair and repave the existing road.
The project is about 10 percent done and is scheduled to be complete by fall of 2012.
