The time has changed on a community meeting aimed at getting ministers involved in helping the city of Blytheville with its code enforcement issues.
The meeting has been moved to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul MB Church, according to City Councilman John Musgraves, who chairs the Code Enforcement committee.
It will be the second such meeting this month. The first was held July 16 at the Boys and Girls Club.
"We would like to thank everyone that came out last Saturday," Musgraves said. "And we would like to thank the ones that came out that understood the format that we were going to have.
"We appreciate them for working with us because they thought it was going to be another format, but we asked them to stick with this format for the pastors. That told me a lot about their character."
Councilman Stan Parks said city leaders are looking for more ministers to get involved.
"It's going to change this community in more ways than one if they will all pull together and work for a cleaner, better Blytheville," Parks said. "It will reduce crime. We're going to be looking to clear out the high crime areas and try to make a duel impact as far as crime and beautification."
