Meredith Suzanne Brown and Matthew Randall Perkins were married Saturday, July 9, 2011, in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.

Meredith Suzanne Brown and Matthew Randall Perkins were married Saturday, July 9, 2011, in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Brown of Houston, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Craig D. Farrelly of Osceola; and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey R. Perkins of Greenville, S.C. Grandparents are Mrs. Robert C. Keathley of Danville, Dr. and Mrs. Byron L. Brown of Little Rock, Mrs. James Summerford of Memphis and Mrs. Charlotte Farrelly of Gosnell.

The Rev. Justin Coleman officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony. Musicians were Rob Landes, organist, and Monica Griffin, soprano soloist. Miss Elizabeth Kathleen Brown of Austin, Texas, served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Barbie Rawson Holman, Miss Marina Christine Lodato and Miss Tallent Paty Ricca, all of Houston. Members of the house party were Mrs. Natalie Harp Ivers of Fayetteville and Miss Amanda Claire Peterson of Coppell, Texas. The best man was Mr. Joseph Scott Lacy of Dallas, and groomsmen were Mr. W. Hughes Burrow of Memphis, Mr. Jonathan Blake Diaz of Fayetteville and Mr. Scott Michael Johnson of Bentonville. Ushers were Mr. Christopher James Day of Memphis, Mr. Peter Parnell Holman of Houston, Mr. David Anthony Routon of Maumelle and Mr. Robert Thomas Brown of Houston, brother of the bride. Ringbearers were Masters Jack Benton Bandy and Walker Buck Bandy of Fayetteville, and flower girl was Miss Annabelle Finley Martin of Fayetteville. Miss Sarah Margaret Eldridge of Memphis read the scripture.

The bride wore a strapless ivory satin gown with a sweetheart neckline. Ruching shaped the bodice of the dress to the hip, with the pleating flowing into a chapel train. She wore a veil edged with crystal and pearl beading and carried a bouquet of white roses. For the reception, the bride added a sash handmade by her mother and decorated with crystal and pearl beading.

Dinner and dancing at The Junior League of Houston followed the ceremony, and the couple's rose petal departure was via pedalcab.

On July 8, the groom's parents entertained the wedding party and out-of-town guests with the rehearsal dinner at Maggiano's.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Matthew received a bachelor's degree in political science and was active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. In June 2011, he received a master's degree in public administration from Norwich University. He is executive director of Main Street Blytheville. Meredith received a bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations and was active in Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She is an employment consultant for TempsPlus. After a honeymoon in Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Perkins will be at home in Blytheville.
