Everett Austin (Jim) Rebstock
Mr. Everett Austin (Jim) Rebstock was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Dale, Ark., the son of the late Shirley Harrison and Rettia Potter Rebstock.
He was united in marriage to Lucy Myrick Feb. 21, 1942. Mrs. Rebstock preceded him in death March 1, 2005.
Mr. Rebstock was retired from Jackson's Cookie Company in Memphis. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a corporal in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. His primary service was in the Pacific Theater of operations. Mr. Rebstock was a member of the Mount Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. His primary interests included gardening, fishing, doing shade-tree mechanic work, and reading his Bible.
Mr. Rebstock departed this life on July 14, 2011 in Bolivar, Tenn., at the age of 89 years, ten months, ten days.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Rebstock was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Judy Ann Rebstock and Ann Rebstock; two grandchildren, Brian Rebstock and Lucretia Rebstock; two brothers, Cecil Rebstock and Leonard Rebstock; and two sisters, Lorena Wallace and Helen Singleton.
He leaves four sons, Benny A. Rebstock of Ramer, Tenn., James Rebstock of Michie, Tenn., Terry K. Rebstock and wife, Judith, of Ramer, Tenn., and Albert Rebstock and wife, Sandy, of Bethel Springs, Tenn.;
Seven daughters, Mary Hendrix and husband, Lee Royce, of Memphis, Helen Wilbanks and husband, Hugh, of Walnut, Miss., Patricia Lacefield and husband, Michael, of Ramer, Tenn., Darlene Young and husband, Billy, of Iuka, Miss., Sharon Reed and husband, Ronnie, of Mountain View, Judy Harris and husband, Dale, of Jackson, Tenn., Christine Rebstock-Voyles and husband, Ricky, of Burnsville, Miss.;
Twenty-four grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and
Many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tenn., with Mike Hollaway officiating. Burial will follow in the Hope McNairy County Memorial Cemetery in Selmer.
