Sonic Drive-In on East Main was closed for repairs after a vehicle missed a curve, hit a median and ran into the building Sunday afternoon.

Maegan R. Peifer, 20, of Harrisburg, was in a 2009 Kia traveling west in the inner lane of East Main Street, according to a report by Patrolman Eric Farrell of the Blytheville Police Department.

The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the island at the intersection of East Main and Hollywood and continued onto the restaurant's property, where it struck a bush and then the east side of the building.

No injuries were reported, Farrell said.

The officer estimated there was $25,000 in damage to the building and $10,000 in damage to Peifer's vehicle.

Peifer was cited for careless and prohibited driving, the report stated.

The restaurant is now open, according to an employee.
