The Blytheville Boys and Girls Club will hold its 10th Annual Steak and Burger Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn.

The Blytheville Boys and Girls Club will hold its 10th Annual Steak and Burger Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn.

Tickets are $20 with the proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Club.

The Rev. Emmanuel Lofton will be the keynote speaker for the event.

Lofton is the fonder and former executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Mississippi County. He has a long list of involvement in the community, present and past.

Lofton is the fonder and former director of African-American Men of Distinction (AAMOD); a member of the Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce; a member of the Blytheville Kiwanis Club; on the board of directors of the Consolidated Youth Services (Jonesboro); on the board of directors of Arkansas Human Development; graduate of the East Arkansas Leadership Institute, Arkansas State University; member of the Mississippi County Quorum Court; member of the Mississippi County Board of Directors of the Enterprises Community; member of the board of directors of the Mississippi Workforce Alliance; board member of the Northeast Arkansas Girl Scouts; former member of the board of the Foundation for the Mid-South; former member of the Mississippi County Workforce Alliance; and former member of the board of directors of the Mississippi County OEO/EOC.

He was also a Korean War vet, former history and government teacher in Blytheville and Jonesboro, former supervisor of Vista Volunteers, former Public Health Investigator for the state of Arkansas, former officer of the Mississippi County Chapter of the NAACP, charter member and co-chair of the Mississippi County Black Cultural Association, to name a few.
