Barney Pete Elliott
Barney Pete Elliott, 83 of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home. Born Sept. 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Taugh and Nellie Elliott and had been a long time area resident. Mr. Elliott enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved animals.
Survivors include, three sons, Alvin Byers and wife Eva of Cooter, Mo., Johnny Elliott of Steele, Mo, and Larry Elliott of Bonne Terra, Mo.; seven daughters, Carolyn Teeter and husband Terry of Mountain Home, Ark., Kathy Farmer and husband Matt of Fort Worth, Texas, Linda Milstead and husband James of Wappapello, Mo., Debbie Elliott and husband Luis of Natchitoches, La., Suzy Gasca of Hartford, Mich., and Lisa Fernandez and husband Raul of Dallas, Texas.; two sisters, Nancy Elliott and Martha Jane Hampton; a brother, Buddy Elliott. Mr. Elliott also leaves thirty-two grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Elliott; four sons: Stanley Joe, Barney, Roger and Daniel Elliott and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the John German Funeral Chapel in Steele, Mo., with Rev. Danny Lacer officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark., in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors Friday, June 17, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at John German Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were Corey Cooper, Joshua Hopkins, Alexander Arch, Jr., Raul Fernandez, Jr., Robert Fernandez and John Elliott, Jr.
