Barracudas open 2011 swim season

The Blytheville Barracudas opened their 2011 season with a meet in Pocahontas this week.

The teams attending were the Blytheville Barracudas, Pocahontas Dolphins and the Mountain Hone Hurricanes.

Despite cool temperatures and minimal practice, the Barracudas performed well in the first competition of the year.

Winners included:

Sydney Byrd (Girls 8&U), 2nd Place 25 yard freestyle, 2nd Place 25 yard backstroke, Emma Haskins (Girls 9-10), 2nd Place 50 yard freestyle, 4th Place 50 yard breaststroke, 1st Place 50 yard butterfly, Cade Byrd (Boys 9-10), 1st Place 50 yard freestyle, 1st Place 50 yard butterfly, 1st Place 100 yard freestyle Aditi Panda (Girls 11-12), 6th Place 50 yard backstroke, Bao Dang (Boys 11-12), 4th Place 50 yard freestyle, 2nd Place 50 yard backstroke, Anna Pursnani (Girls 13-14), 1st Place 100 yard butterfly, Danh Dang (Boys 13-14), 6th Place 100 yard freestyle, Talon Petersen (Boys 13-14), 5th Place 100 yard freestyle, 2nd Place 100 yard backstroke, 4th Place 50 yard freestyle.

The Barracudas travel to Pocahontas again this weekend where they will face the Jonesboro Jets, Pocahontas Dolphins, Stone County Stingrays and the Wynne Marlins.
