Louis Glen (Ben) Corona
Mr. Louis Glen (Ben) Corona, 60, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro after a long illness.
He was born March 4, 1951, in Pascagoula, Miss. He attended Castle Heights Military School, graduating with honors. He loved playing the guitar and singing specials at churches and nursing homes throughout the area. He spent eight years in the National Guard.
He loved spending time with his family and was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and enjoyed watching the "Hogs," St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves play.
He coached for Marion Youth Sports Association for 10 years. He worked for Specialty Oil in West Memphis as operations manager for many years and was also a member of the North 10th St. Baptist Church and a former member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Marion.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Corona; and a sister in law, Laura Cason.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Jan Nutt Corona;
His sons, Corey Corona of Blytheville and Allen Hall of Marion;
A sister-in-law, Deloris Jones and her husband, Eldon, of West Memphis;
A brother-in-law, Kevin Nutt and his wife, Lisa, of Luxora;
His father and step-mother, Louis Glen and Agnes Roberts of Memphis;
A step-brother, Ronnie Saigion of Eads, Tenn.;
His father-in-law, Fred Nutt of Blytheville;
His mother-in-law, Hazel Beck of Del;
Very special cousins, Phil and Judy Kirby and Shari Scheuring; and
Two nieces, three nephews and one great niece.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be sent to the North 10th St. Baptist Church in Blytheville or Fellowship Baptist Church in Marion.
