WEINER -- The Armorel Tigers remained perfect in the 1A-3 East after an 18-0 drubbing of the Weiner Cardinals Friday afternoon in five innings.

Pitchers Chris Ashmore and Jacob Gatlin combined for a 1-hit shutout of the Cardinals.

Armorel opened the flood gates with a 10-run second inning highlighted by a home run from Ryan Sullivan.

Sullivan ( 2 hits, home run and 3 RBIs), Dallas Nicholson (3 hits), Jonathan Baker (3 hits and 2 RBIs), Jason Lawrence (2 hits and 2 RBIs), LaVonta Smith (2 hits and 4 RBIs) led the offense for the Tigers. Ashmore, Justin Guilliams, Tyler Byrd and Ty Wagganer also got hits for Armorel.

The Tigers improved to 11-9 overall and 6-0 in 1A 3-East standings. Armorel is scheduled to play Crowley's Ridge Academy this afternoon at Armorel.
