EPC and Bay won their respective state championships Thursday.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) -- Rashad Madden and Jammar Sturdivant scored 15 points each to lead the East Poinsett County Warriors to a 53-38 win over the Parkers Chapel Trojan in the Arkansas Boys Class 2A Championship game Thursday night.

Madden, a University of Arkansas signee, finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. It was the first state title for East Poinsett (33-3) since 2004.

Sturdivant, a sophomore, finished with 15, including three 3-pointers. Also for the Warriors, Byron Ford and A.J. Turner had eight points each. Parkers Chapel (28-6) was led by Kylaus Williams with 16 points and six rebounds. Kyle Sweeny had eight points. The Trojans scored the first six points and held the lead most of the first quarter. East Poinsett rallied and led 13-11 after one quarter and 27-19 at halftime.

Class 1A State

Bay 67, Black Rock 40

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) -- Gunner Freeman and Tyson Oliver combined for 31 points as the Bay Yellowjackets defeated the Black Rock Zebras 67-40 in the Arkansas Boys Class 1A Championship game Thursday.

It was the first state title for the Yellowjackets (35-9) since 1965. Bay was state runner-up last year. Bay jumped to a 17-9 lead after one quarter and was never challenged by the Zebras (37-5).

Freeman, the tournament most valuable player, had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead the Jackets. Oliver came off the bench and contributed 15 points and five rebounds. Cody Sharp added 11 points. In the state finals for the first time, Black Rock was led by Tyler Newell with 10 points.
