William Smith, 22, of 1305 N. Lee Circle, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of an instrument of crime and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm Monday morning by Blytheville police. Smith was driving a vehicle that had a missing headlight. When officers were checking his identity, Smith was searched for safety. An officer found a glass tube and a small quantity of methamphetamine on his person. A gun was found inside the vehicle. The case was turned over to the Mississippi County Drug Task Force.
Blytheville police are assisting the Blytheville Fire Department in an investigation of a residential fire at 1811 Stuart St. on Sunday.
A Lauderdale Street resident reported that a 2003 Ford vehicle had been "keyed," causing $3,000 in damage.
An employee of a business on East Main reported the theft of a purse and its contents from the business. Items taken were valued at $90.
An employee of a business on South Division Street reported being harassed.
Anthony Q. Lawson, 45, of 610 S. Lake St., was arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest and possession of an instrument of crime after he was seen staggering while walking on South Franklin Street.
A Jackson Street resident reported being harassed by text messages.
A resident of Chickasawba Street reported a burglary in which $1,300 in cash was taken. A door was damaged to gain entry.
A Jackson Street resident reported a burglary in where several video-gaming systems and games were taken. The value of the stolen items was listed at $640. A door was damaged to gain entry, causing $150 in repairs.
On Saturday, Ivory Downs, 55, of Malden, Mo., was arrested at 16th and Chickasawba for DWI after his vehicle was stopped for no brake light.
A resident of East Kentucky reported an assault by a family member.
Levi Leighton Lee Entriken, 25, of 1019 E. Airbase Highway, was arrested for possession of marijuana after the vehicle he was driving was stopped for no license plate light.
A Hearn Street resident reported being choked and injured by a former boyfriend.
A resident of Stuart Street reported the theft of an electric meter valued at $200.
A Chickasawba Street resident reported being threatened.
Barbara Ann Barnett, 45, of 401 E. Davis was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, crack, after an officer observed her riding a bicycle on Davis Street and drop a small item from her hand. The item was a small baggie of crack.
A Hearn Street resident reported a burglary in which tools, linens, dolls and china, all valued at $2,350 were taken. A door was broken to gain entry, causing repairs estimated at $100.
A man reported being robbed of $60 by two black men as he was leaving a business in the area of Dougan and Delmar Streets.
On Friday, a resident of South Franklin reported someone had thrown a brick through a window.
A South Lake Street resident reported a door to the residence had been kicked in, causing $150 in damage.
A resident of East Rose Street reported a window was broken and a .22 pistol valued at $200 was stolen.
A North Second Street resident reported a door was kicked open and a television and stereo valued at $1,500 was taken. Damage to the door was estimated at $200.
Police are assisting the fire department in investigating a fire at 127 W. Pecan Street.
